The Silk Street jazz band are proud to be performing again (for the 4th year running) at the Chelsea Flower Show, which starts today and what fantastic weather for it? We think this year will be the hottest one yet and that includes the jazz music! We are pleased to welcome our talented trumpet player who joins the group for this year’s show. The jazz band will be entertaining VIP’s and the green fingered with its dixieland jazz music, forming part of the entertainment for today’s Charity Gala Preview.

Following our appearance on CBeebies ZingZillas last month, Silk Street are to appear on television once again; this time on Channel Four’s trailer for the final season of Big Brother.

Our massive ten-piece line-up spent a day on location in south west London with ex-contestants of the show paying their respects to the final series of the programme.

We also spent a day this week in the studio recording the specially arranged music ready in time for the release of the advert.

A preview of the trailer can be seen on Monday 24th May, 23:00 on Channel 4. The advert is being aired at the end of Davina McCall’s new show “The Milion Pound Drop”.

The trailer will also continue to be shown on Channel 4 over the next few weeks. So keep your eyes peeled…

This Thursday the Silk Street Hot Seven feature in the CBeebies TV show, Zingzillas!

Tune in to watch the band perform their traditional dixieland jazz in the ‘Big Zing’ , episode twenty of the hit children’s TV show.

In case you miss it, the programme will be repeated on the 29th of April at 5:15pm and on Friday the 30th of April at 8am. You can also watch the show via the BBC’s iPlayer – hurry though, it will only be available for streaming for a week or so!

Zingzillas and friends play music on their tropical island paradise and meet different musical guests each week. Tomorrow, it’s Todd’s birthday and he thinks nobody has remembered, but Panzee is planning to give Todd a surprise birthday party. The ZingZillas need a cake, streamers and a special song. They visit the Glade for inspiration and watch The Silk Street Hot Seven perform their inimitable jazz.

On Monday 19th April 2010, The Silk Street 5-piece jazz band performed at the finish line of Beefy’s Great Forget-Me-Not Walk in aid of childhood leukaemia.

After ten days walking around ten towns in the UK, Ian finally arrived at around 14:45 to a big cheer and musical welcome outside Marks and Spencers, Marble Arch. He was very complimentary of the music and many passers by stopped to watch and listen too.

The Silk Street 3-piece band launched the Christmas Party today by opening the fantastic all new, brighter and more contemporary Roomes store in Upminister. The band was featured at the front of the store, enticed passers by and entertained the high street. Click below to view the full brochure.

The Silk Street jazz trio entertained early Christmas shoppers yesterday outside Elys department store. The lively up-beat versions of Rockin’ Around The Christmas, Jingle Bells and White Christmas got mum’s, kids and passers by in the mood and the weather was not too cold either!
